Mack & Baskin

Sam and Mike met on a pool league. They both shoot pool and Sam helps run a league. After knowing each other for awhile and becoming friends, it became clear that there was more to it than just friendship. The two started dating and kept things pretty quiet. Neither are the type to shout from the rooftops…that is until Mike proposed in Vegas…in front of their pool league, with a photographer to capture the whole thing. That made social media for sure.

They started planning their fall wedding and they knew two things: it needed to be rustic and it needed to be outside. They found a beautiful venue just outside of Charlotte, NC which hadn’t even hosted its first wedding yet. Samantha and Mike were the first couple to book at Circle M Farm Events. They made a beautiful decision. The place was fabulous, from the pews at the ceremony site to the string lights in the barn. Even the bridal suite was awesome. The day was a bit rainy, which worried the couple a little, but wouldn’t you know it? The rain left about 30 minutes before their ceremony and never came back. It did make for some very vibrant colors though!
Because Sam and Mike had both recently lost some very important members of their family, they had to find a way to include their loved ones in their ceremony. Sam had a photo of her dad built right into her custom made broach bouquet. Photographing it almost teared me up. Maybe I should mention that I’ve known Samantha since we were 8 years old. We go way back. So all the emotional factors of this wedding even choked me up! There were white roses for each of their family members who left Earth too soon to witness this wedding. And they even included photographs of their loved ones to share with all their guests. It was incredibly representative of what is truly important to these two…and that is the love of family and friends.

Sam and Mike opted to forego traditional catering and bring in a Food Truck instead. What a cool idea! When we realized the food truck was a Pizza truck, everyone got even more excited! Who doesn’t love pizza? It was a hit! There was even fresh made gelato for dessert to go along with the delicious wedding cake.

After a beautiful, outdoor ceremony, everyone danced the night away inside the barn, taking time every now and then to go enjoy the fresh air right outside the barn doors. Just watching everyone dance reiterated the closeness between their friends and family. It was such a fun time. Once the dancing was over, the two newlyweds headed to their Limo between rows of friends holding sparklers to wave them goodbye. Congratulations to these two love birds!! They couldn’t have chosen a better time and place to say their vows!
